About Taxed or Not

Taxed or Not is a free, independent checker for people who sell things online in the UK: on Vinted, eBay, Depop, Etsy, Facebook Marketplace and anywhere else.

Since 2024, selling apps have had to send HMRC details of busier sellers. That's left a lot of people worried about a tax bill they probably don't owe, and a smaller group who do need to act and don't know how. Some of what's online mixes up the rules, like the '30-item rule', which doesn't exist. So we built a checker that gives a straight answer after a few quick questions, with real dates.

What we are: guidance, not tax advice. Our answers are based on what you tell us and on HMRC's published rules.

What we're not: we're not HMRC, and we're not affiliated with HMRC, Vinted, eBay, Depop or Etsy. We never ask for your name or National Insurance number in the checker.
